Our client, well-versed in colour and print, had already curated a stunning collection of artwork. This allowed us to have great fun designing a space that was not only functional but also brimming with rich textures and patterns. A highlight of the project was creating a bespoke jewellery island, which was a true delight to design.

the brief

We had worked with these clients in their previous house, and had already helped the create a new entertaining space in their new home. Now it was the turn of the master suite — a long, narrow bedroom and a bright ensuite with loads of natural light. We worked to use the space to its best advantage, and strived to turn quirks such as uneven ceiling lines into features that enhanced the rooms.

THE WHY

The owners now wanted to create a wonderful master suite for themselves, having devoted their considerable energies to other areas in the house for their first years there. Having worked with them before we knew their style and were able to create a unique space that blended perfectly with the elements that they wanted to keep. The long, narrow bedroom space was a particular challenge, which we met by giving each area its own identity.

THE OUTCOME

A sumptuous master suite that made the best of the space — a dressing room was created at one end of the bedroom, with discreet wardrobes lined in walnut, and a unique, bespoke oval dressing room island at its centre. A canopy bed draws the eye upward, emphasising the ceiling height, and textured finishes on the furniture are both quirky and luxurious. In the ensuite a cascade of leaves on the wallpaper and heavy glass pendants give a spa-like ambience by the bath, and every detail was considered in the choice of fittings to ensure a sublime experience.
