Surrey home for a young family
The young family living here needed a soft, delicate atmosphere in their home, they moved into a house needing considerable attention.

We carried this theme throughout the house, using a palette of soft blues, greys and pinks, reworking the lighting and adding shutters to the windows to provide privacy without compromising on the light.
the brief
A young family with a newborn had just moved into their new home in Surrey, and tasked us with creating calm, family-friendly rooms that made the most of the light and space available. The front room in particular needed to be completely redesigned, and the bedrooms required storage and good lighting in addition to a beautiful design scheme.
THE WHY
The family had a hectic work schedule alongside managing their growing family, and having a sanctuary to come home to was of utmost importance. The light changed dramatically in each room during the day, which influenced the choice of a delicate colour scheme that would create a relaxed feel at all times of the day. With young children it was also particularly important to choose materials that would withstand the rigours of family life.
THE OUTCOME
A soft, delicate colour scheme was implemented throughout the house, with design accents to draw the eye. Storage was incorporated unobtrusively so as not to detract from the restful ambience, and lighting was chosen to complement the natural light that floods the house. Tactile materials throughout add softness, texture and interest.
