Gold & Grey Bathroom

Muted glamour.

GOLD & GREY BATHROOM

Gold That

Glisters

This was a great bathroom project that maximised space and glamour in a tiny space. The gold mosaic tiles were muted with dark grey on the vanity tops, floor and ceiling, and a wide array of products were used, from IKEA to Vola, Tom Dixon, Starck and Jonathan Adler.

We were thrilled to work with ASV interiors on this.

the brief

Part of the Kensington pied-a-terre, a dramatic treatment was called for in this master-ensuite. Visual impact was paramount, and a great deal of storage to accommodate the demands of everyday life also needed to be provided, out of sight. Luxurious materials and lighting were to be used to create a unique haven.

THE WHY

Bathrooms in city centre blocks of flats often look like an afterthought, installed in areas without natural light and dependent on the entire building’s complex and immovable plumbing system. Dramatic design and luxurious materials put this are on par with the rest of the flat, fully complying with structural demands while never taking a back seat.

THE OUTCOME

The gold and grey is glamorous and impactful without being brash; a subtle grey marble bath surround and vanity top fits perfectly with the honed slate floor; the ceiling picks up the colour as well. Brass lighting ties in with both the gold tiles and the rooms beyond and hidden lighting along the walls compensates for any lack of natural light. The specification throughout is of the highest quality, ensuring a truly luxurious experience.
